We did not really enjoy our so-called wedding venue coordinators. But we had fun choosing a cake. I confess we weren’t as detailed as you. We met with one florist, one cake person and one caterer. I chose a pianist and then we made our own dance playlist. I think what surprised me the most was writing our own vows and sharing them to our guests at the ceremony. They felt so real. Marriage has to be 50/50 but not per task. Big picture. Like if I cook, I don’t do the dishes haha. And I wouldn’t be caught dead mowing a lawn but he doesn’t grocery shop. Equitable division of labor. And not just taking over because it wasn’t quite right. My mom’s marriage to my dad taught me that the more you do that in the beginning, that is how you’ll do it in the end. I am so excited for you and your wedding. It sounds like you’re really finding your way together! 🫶

What a wonderful read Landon! Reminded me a lot of our own wedding planning, even though ours was super small and very focused, well, on what we wanted.

Two things you mentioned I specifically liked - the aspect of realizing that both parties are focused on different things but with the same goal in mind. A great preparation for marriage as a whole lol, because seeing it that way is setting yourself up for success, at least in our case.

And also, to be loved is to be seen. To know the other person, especially when something is off.

Very fun to get these insights into your process, I hope you ended up choosing the correct ribbon shade, hah!!
